[ Hair pulled back and resting over her shoulder because, hello, it's hot no matter the time of day, she greets him at the door with a friendly smile. She hadn't really expected him to want to come and deliver the fan on his birthday of all days but, then again, he certainly seems the type to go out of his way for others so, maybe she shouldn't be all that surprised. Held between her hands, however, is a box of chocolate chip cookies. Unopened. Holding them up to show, she purses her lips, a shrug of her shoulders. ]
It's not exactly a cake but, I figured I should give you something on your birthday of all days.
Chocolate chip? They're my favorite. Thank you, Jean.
[ He smiles wide, and then sort of tries to exchange the cookies for the fan in his hand. It's not a big fan, just a little one to put on the table. Kind of looks like it's from the 1950s. More clunk than fan. ]
[ Aka no telepathy used to figure that out. But with a smile on her lips, she does a little maneuvering herself with the exchange of the fan for the cookies when a thought touches her and she finds herself looking to Steve a little curiously. ]
You've been here for awhile. [ From what she recalls him telling her. ] I was wondering if you actually might be able to help me figure something out? [ Beat ] I got something in my basket and I'm not too sure what it is.
[ Better to ask someone she trusts than ask the masses over the Fluid. But she lets him in and carefully sets the fan down onto the couch as she slips into her bedroom on the first floor, only to return a moment later with this in her hand, filled with a black liquid that looks like ink. ]
I probably should. [ Beat ] I sort of asked the basket for help with something- I know that sounds a little crazy. But this is what appeared in the basket when I did. I just have no idea what it is.
[ It's a fair enough question and one she mulls over with a faint smile on her lips, fingers tapping against the glass bottle she holds. The last thing she wants is for Steve to look at her differently. ]
I have... difficulty with my powers sometimes. Controlling them. I wanted a safety precaution. Knowing how this place can be.

Guess I gotta get to these jams quickly.

But admittedly I wasn't here for it and who knows if I will be for the next one.
And I'd say probably especially with this heat.

Lucky for me, I'm not.
Just a lot of tossing and turning with trying to get comfortable I think.

I could always use an extra one around here.

But really, it's still your birthday.
You should still celebrating and not delivering fans.

[ He takes one of the cookies out to eat, and then follows her where she might need to go to find her basket. ]
I've gotten a couple of 'em. What is it?

Have you seen something like this before?

[ Because it definitely looks that way. ]

--If it's not too personal.
[ But that might help explain whatever this is. ]

[ He looks at the bottle and raises an eyebrow. ]
Guess trying to test out what it does might pose a problem.

[ To which she smiles a bit and offers a shrug after. ]
I'll just have to... figure it out. But thank you for at least looking. You can't be too sure about the things around here.

[ And this sort of thing seems too dangerous to leave to chance. ]
