[Skye hurries over to meet him there, waiting outside the entrance and biting anxiously at her cuticles. If anyone can help her find Bucky, it’s Steve. He knows him better than anyone here. Including her.

Straightening up and pulling her hands away from her mouth when she sees Steve approach, Skye can barely contain her worry.]

Hey. Thanks for doing this if anyone knows Bucky, it’s you.

Yeah. Come on, let's go.

[ He's got his armor on, his shield up, and starts going into the woods. ]

Maybe he's just... spending time in there.

[ As. A wolf. ]

[The suit this place provides is definitely tight in places she wishes it wasn’t, but it was better than going in without any kind of protection. Seeing the shield in person is still wild to Skye and if she wasn’t so worried about Bucky she‘d ask if she could hold it.]

Without saying anything? That doesn’t sound like him.

[She’s been afraid of going around town and finding his ghost and she’s really hoping not to find it in here. Skye is uncharacteristically quiet for a while before speaking up again, desperate to get her mind off of how worried she is.]

How are things with you and Julia?

[ Well, alright, maybe not, but. Maybe he was just trying to let off some steam. ]

They're... they're great, actually.

[If it means distracting herself from spiraling? Yes. Plus, she does genuinely care about Steve and his happiness. She smiles as much as she can when she hears things are good between them.]

Good, I’m glad. You deserve to be happy, even in a place like this. Especially in a place like this.

[Her smile fades when he asks an important, but upsetting, question.]

A couple of days ago, but we’ve been talking. So when I didn’t hear from him today I knew something was off.

[ So they can go through the woods. Steve tries to look around for any sign of him, but he's sort of also The Winter Soldier.

If he doesn't want to be found, chances are, he might not get found. But it's a small town. ]

He hasn't been acting weird with you at all?

[Being careful of where she steps, Skye looks up at him with concern.]

Why? Has he been weird around you?

[She normally would want to avoid the labyrinth again at all cost, but if Bucky was in there... For now, however, Skye decides it might be better to look around the forest itself before entering in the hopes of finding him.]

Maybe we should have brought Ripley with us.

No, he hasn't. But-- we can go back for Rip, if you think that might help.

[ He doesn't know why Bucky would up and disappear like this unless it was Deerington messing with all of them again.

And if he doesn't seem particularly worried, uh.

It might be because Skye seems like she's going to do the worrying for both of them. ]

[Skye looks behind them as she debates whether or not it's actually worth it to go back for her.]

No. If something happens to her Bucky would never forgive me.

[What she wouldn't give to have some of Bucky's werewolf senses right now. Hearing movement ahead of them, Skye looks to Steve before stepping forward. Gun drawn, but held low for now. Peering around a thick tree trunk, Skye visibly relaxes.]

It's just a rabbit.

[ He's wondering if Skye should be out here if she might shoot the next rabbit that comes around. But he doesn't think she'll just stay back. ]

She's a lot tougher than you think.

[Hey, she had enough control not to shoot the rabbit. But she might be a little on edge--]

She has the energy of a sloth, wouldn’t count on her to be able to move out of the way of an attack on time.

[ But anyway, they're out here and Steve has his ears and eyes peeled, but so far - no sign. ]

Don't think anyone's been here in awhile.

[Skye feels both relieved and, disappointed that they didn’t find Bucky over here. In the back of her mind, she can just tell this isn’t good overall. He wouldn’t just disappear like that, and she knows they won’t find him out here.]

Yeah, I think you’re right.

[Frowning as she turns to face him, Skye tries to figure out where they could look next. Aside from the maze, but, she really doesn’t want to go back in there.]

You don’t think he went into the maze, do you?

...Not without saying anything to us, no.

[ At least, that's the hope. But he knows sometimes Bucky... sometimes he does the stupidest thing imaginable. Which means he is wondering if he should offer to Skye to go look. ]

[Sighing heavily, Skye brings her hand to her mouth to bite at the side of her nail. Where the hell else could be? Well, she knows what could have happened. It’s just that she doesn’t want to believe it.

Maybe Steve knows too. Either way, she stands there for a few minutes, going over in her mind any other place he could be hiding out at. Tears welling up in her eyes she quickly tries to blink them away as she swallows heavily.]

Bruce brought some things over to Bucky’s place, in case he—

[She doesn’t want to finish that sentence.]

Hey --

[ He goes over to her and places a hand on her shoulder. ]

We'll find him, okay? We'll find him, and call him a jerk for making you worry, alright? But until then, we've gotta keep looking.

[Bringing up a hand to quickly wipe away a stray tear that’s falling down her cheek, Skye smiles sadly up at him.]

Yeah, you’re right.

[Is he in just as much denial as she is? Or is he just doing all of this because of her reaction?]

[Heaving a sigh, Skye walks off to the left down to another section of the woods.]
