CRAU History and Impact:
Personality:
Steve Rogers is first and foremost, a good man. He chose to receive enhancements that amplify a person's physicality depending on what kind of person they are inside. He gains super strength, endurance, peak physical condition, and about a foot in height and a hundred pounds of muscle. The reason he chose to undergo the procedure was because he was a sickly, small man who was rejected from being able to serve in World War II. He is a protector, he detests bullies, and he has an incredibly strong moral compass.

Because of this, Steve can be extremely stubborn. He doesn't back away from a fight because he's outnumbered or because he's weaker; he doesn't show signs of regret or weakness when he's losing. One of his most famous lines is "I could do this all day," which he utters after standing back up following getting knocked down. He carries orders but he's not afraid to bend the rules either, even fighting the law, his friends, and becoming a fugitive for several years as a result.

Steve can also be blunt, both in terseness of speech and in actual content; he has a situationally contentious relationship with authority and isn't afraid to voice his opinion or his disagreement.

A trained military tactician, Steve is calm and collected and able to make calls under pressure. He can take a glance at a map and remember all the points of interest and he can think quick on his feet. He is a quick study, he's resourceful, and people generally look to him to come up with orders. One of his nicknames, and the name of a song written about him, is "The Star-Spangled Man With a Plan." He is generally well-prepared as well as decisive. Along with this, he has a talent for rallying speeches and inspiring others to action. Having spent part of his tour as a morale booster, he's also utilized in modern-day PSAs. And even though he is extremely famous in his world, he doesn't lean into it as if it were a perk. Rather, he tends to filter out the over-enthusiasm in fans when they speak to him, and treats it as a necessary part of his role.

He is open-minded and tolerant, which comes particularly easily to him for a man from his era. His chosen elite team of Howling Commandoes was a mixed-race team in a time when that wouldn't be normalized, he respects Peggy when her other colleagues do not, and he's friends with a self-proclaimed God despite being Christian himself. He isn't perfect about his tolerance, but he is self-aware of such. When Natasha suggests a prospective love interest for him, he describes the woman in question as having a lip-ring and states that he's "not ready for that," suggesting he understands the problem comes from his feelings, not her choice.

Having spent some time in the modern era, he's no longer quite as old-fashioned or as proper as he once was. That being said, he had many first-time life experiences during his service and many more after waking up in 2011, so part of that life experience is a loss of both naivety and innocence. He mentions it himself when he states that he thinks someone else "came out of the ice;" there is a definite maturity that he's been forced to develop after a few years serving as an Avenger.

He is very responsible and, when stealing a car, requests Natasha get her feet off the dashboard. Even in Age of Ultron, the other characters make fun of him as he warns another one against swearing; a couple movies later, he's much less discerning. People might say that he's a little uptight, but he's self-aware and he attempts to improve his attitude. He still prefers records over digital music and handwritten letters over e-mail; some of him will always remain rooted in the past.

Steve cares about others, has a hero complex, and is quite pacifistic. His chosen weapon is a shield and he takes little pleasure in excessive violence. In one case, he enters a room full of enemies and asks them if anyone would like to exit before he beats them all to a pulp. He is also selfless and attempts to martyr himself on several occasions, succeeding on one. In that regard, he is quite fearless. But he can also be overprotective: upon finding out that Tony's parents were murdered, he allows Tony to continue believing they died in a car accident in order to spare him more grief (this backfires spectacularly, of course).

He has a serious personality and is well-suited for practical fighting as an action hero. He has a better sense of humor in his private life, mostly in trading banter, and particularly with Bucky or Sam. He pokes fun at his own self-righteousness, as well as his age.

Steve's also incredibly loyal, hard-working and steadfast. He stands by Bucky and tries to rescue him and defend him from his captors, his brainwashing, and the fall-out from said brainwashing. He can be reliably called upon by his friends for aid; people expect the best out of him and he tries his hardest to make sure that's what they get. He de-facto assumes the role of the leader when one doesn't present itself or when someone else thrusts it upon him.

He has a healthy self-esteem, self-assuredness, and relatively little self-doubt, though more since he's woken up from the ice. He tries to stay optimistic, so much so that sometimes it annoys his teammates. He is also forgiving in nature, and unlikely to attack a foe who he no longer considers a threat. Even though he is a positive individual, he also understands that the world is not in black and white and compromises are needed for the greater good, and he acts accordingly.

As for interpersonal relationships, Steve has made several close friends and allies over the years. Of the ones he has lost, he mourns them all deeply. He tries his best to move forward from the past, but his melancholy over lost loved ones is particularly strong; his judgment can become impaired when it pertains to Bucky and Peggy in particular. He is a consummate professional in his line of work, he is friendly, and he is polite to all his acquaintances.

Steve values honesty and forthrightness. He likes being in control of a situation, and he doesn't tolerate liars and dislikes when his team has secret agendas. He likes to be able to trust people.

Abilities/Powers/Weaknesses & Warping: His Super Soldier Serum allows him peak physical/super- human condition, which allows him extreme strength, endurance, speed and health. His metabolism is also so fast such that he can't experience drunkenness from most alcohols. He also has the ability to use his shield as a boomerang. He is surprisingly light on his feet, allowing him to sneak up behind others, and he also speaks French.
